Terms of Service

1. About this Service

Open Play Development Centre provides football coaching services through its platform. All coaching sessions made available for booking are delivered by coaches who are representatives of, and directly associated with, Open Play Development Centre. These coaches operate as part of the Open Play Development Centre team and are authorised to deliver coaching services on its behalf. They are not independent contractors acting separately from the business.

When a player books a session through the platform, the booking is made directly with Open Play Development Centre for coaching services delivered by its authorised coaches.

2. Bookings & Payments

• All bookings are made through the Open Play Development Centre platform.
• Payments are processed securely via Stripe and charged at checkout.
• Coaches control their own availability, session pricing, and notice periods.
• Bookings within a coach’s minimum notice (buffer) period are automatically blocked.

3. Service Scope & Limitations

• Open Play Development Centre does not supervise, control, or guarantee the quality of coaching sessions.
• The platform does not independently verify DBS status beyond coach self-declaration and any platform checks.
• Open Play Development Centre acts solely as a booking and payment intermediary.
• The platform is not responsible for disputes, injuries, or outcomes arising from coaching sessions.

4. Our Responsibilities

• Coaches listed on the platform must:
  • Hold a valid FA (Football Association) coaching qualification (such as Introduction to Coaching Football, UEFA C Diploma, or equivalent).
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS check (including Children's Barred List check where required by law and safeguarding rules).
  • Maintain appropriate safeguarding training where required.
  • Maintain appropriate insurance coverage for their coaching activities.
• Coaches are solely responsible for their coaching sessions, including session content, delivery, health, safety, and safeguarding compliance.

5. Players, Minors & Parental Responsibility

Bookings for minors must be made by a parent or legal guardian. Parents or guardians are responsible for ensuring the suitability of sessions for minors. Open Play Development Centre is not responsible for supervision outside of the booked session itself.

Astroturf trainers are required for all of our training sessions and we reserve the right to prohibit players from joining our sessions if they do not have appropriate footwear on the day.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, and materials associated with Open Play Development Centre remain the intellectual property of the platform unless otherwise stated. Users may not copy, reproduce, or distribute platform content without permission.

7. Termination & Suspension

• Users must provide accurate information when using the platform.
• Abusive, fraudulent, or inappropriate behaviour may result in suspension or termination of access.
• We reserve the right to cancel bookings or remove users who breach these terms.

8. Limitation of Liability

Football coaching involves physical activity and carries inherent risks. By booking or attending a session, you acknowledge and accept these risks.

Open Play Development Centre is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from coaching sessions. Where permitted by law, liability is limited to the fees paid to Open Play Development Centre for the relevant booking.

9. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
